Friends Newsletter

"Winter Newsletter 2007/8"
Most important news for this edition of the newsletter is the tree planting which is to take place on Sunday 20th January, 2008. We are hoping to plant about 50 whips and will need all the help we can muster to complete the task.

It is an historic event to mark the 20th anniversary of the great storm of October 1987, so please come along and bring your children, they can look at the fully grown trees and say to their children and grandchildren - 'I was there when they were planted'.

Early Bumblebee on the Gorse

Bumble bees were active on the Gorse bushes of Lancing Ring today, I would say they were male Bombus terrestris, showing the whitish tails and two yellow bars.
I counted four individuals there was almost certainly more.
The weather was warm and sunny at about 10C
